chapter I
For as long as anyone could remember, the dogs and their people were divided. The rich from the poor. The strong from the weak. It was a world separated into distinct social classes, fenced apart by an unbreakable boundary - prejudice. The nobility regarded the slum dogs as worthless, wretched curs. The slum dogs were insanely jealous of the nobles, and therefore, hated them all the more. Oddly enough, the middle class, the bourgeoisie, find themself somewhere in between, not accepted by either of the groups. Well, that is how it always had been. Things were slightly different now.
The boundaries that kept the dogs divided are slowly breaking, crumbling apart due to the actions of some of the dogs. There have been rumors that dogs are taking new positions. There are spies among them. Loyalties are wavering. All of this, set in modern day, fictional city where the ancient French social order still holds true for both humans and canines, yet there is tension in the air as liberal, forward-thinking influences waft into a severely traditional society. No dog really knows where this is coming from, but as new canines appear on the scene from far off places, who knows what thoughts and ideologies they will bring with them. There is only one thing that can crumble the social structure, revolution.
chapter II No one expected it to come so soon. It was supposed to be gradual. It wasn't supposed to happen now - but it did. It came like thunder - rolling across the land, developing momentum, destroying the order. The balance between rich and poor was broken. The balance between good and evil wavered. The normalties of daily life crumbled and everything the dogs' knew changed.
The nobles never expected to be overthrown, they were supposed to stay in power. Life for them had changed dramatically. They no longer had power over others that they once had. Meanwhile, the slum dogs couldn't be happier with the new order of things. It was as if their prayers were answered, the nobles had finally been brought down to their level and there was finally equality for all.
Or was there? Will the canines of vivacious be able to ajust to their new way of lifeas equals, or will they fall back into their old oppressive routine? Perhaps a new ruling pack will dawn on the land and take hold of what was once the noble's kingdom. Perhaps the canines of vivacious are not exactly as equal as they thought they were. Perhaps everything will change, again.
